Week Seven (February 25- March 3)
Weekly Response
I hate the idea of art as a matter of fact. Sure there are things I'm more likely to agree with others on in the matters of aesthetics and composition. That doesn't mean there's some magic formula that always produces "correct," or good artwork; for in claiming that there is, the artist is reduced to a tool of some unseen mathematical force, rather than the creator and controller of said force. Math and logic are very much the founding blocks of art, but in a paradoxical manner they don't matter to it. Art is just as much math as it is magic, and to reduce one is to ruin the potential of the other.
