It was not for his own thoughts that he wept, not his own heart that he feared the end

It was not because of the beating sound, the awful tearing ripping disturbing sound 

It was not because of the time spent, futile, trying to make himself believe things other people said

It was because of the silent, anxious agony, the long hours and longer seconds, of waiting.

It was because of what he harmed the other with.
